Two Persian men, dressed in official Persian clothes, stand behind the emperor, one of them carries the bow of Darius, and the other carries his spear.

Vindafarna (in ancient Persian: Vindafarnâ), a Persian nobleman and one of the seven nobles who rebelled against the false Bardia or Geumat. He eventually became one of the high-ranking courtiers of the Achaemenid Empire, and in the Behistun Inscriptions, when he stands behind Darius the Great, he carries his bow as a sign of respect.

Gaubaruva (in ancient Persian: Gaubᵃruva) also rebelled against Geumat along with Vindafarna and five other nobles. According to Herodotus, the family of Gaubruva was closely tied to the Achaemenid family and Gaubaruva was married to the sister of Darius the Great. Gaubaruva also achieved a high position in the Achaemenid Empire, and in the Behistun inscriptions, while standing behind Vindafarna, he carries the long spear of Darius the Great.
