Sæhrímnir • The Cosmic Boar

Saehrimnir is a creature that is described as a "Cosmic Boar" that is hunted, killed, and eaten every night, only to be resurrected so that it can be hunted, killed, and eaten the next night. It provides food for the Aesir and Einherjar in the feasting hall of Valhalla. Andhrímnir, the cook of the gods, is always the one to prepare its meat. It is interesting to note that Odin never actually eats the meat. Instead, he survives on the mead (an alcoholic drink in Nordic culture) of Heiðrún, and gives his share to his two pet wolves.

Bronze Shiva performs the mystic dance of Creation.
The Hindu deity is surrounded by a fiery halo, which represents the cosmos, and he tramples on the demon of ignorance. Every element of the design adds to the symbolic meaning of renewal and destruction. Shiva's upper right hand holds an hourglass drum, a symbol of his creativity, beating the musical pulse of the universe. In the opposite left hand there is a tongue of flames, the element of destruction.
