The other day I saw someone ask on Quora how would society be different if polyamory was the default relationship type instead of monogamy and this one dude decided to talk about the idiocy of the concept of love triangles in all human literature if that actually was reality.

Like, that's the last thing I would think of. If OP's question were the case in real life, so many fundamental aspects of human society would've been different, so, so many.

The site of Troy has been discovered though. By a German guy obsessed with Homer and ancient Mediterranean civilizations named Schliemann who just one day dropped out of school and went to Greece with a copy of Iliad in the late 1800s. Schliemann bulldozed the entire place as much as he could and even found gold and precious objects, not to mention he smuggled a bunch out of the country (Turkey). He believed they were Priam’s treasure.
It was later found that Frank Calvert was the main person responsible for the discovery of Troy at Hisarlık. Schliemann was just rich and could afford more facilities.
Schliemann babbled and bluffed A LOT but because of his exaggerations of his findings through his writings, a lot of attention was brought to archeology itself and he’s considered as one of the first popularizers of archeology.
He’s recognized as the one who discovered but also destroyed Troy. His excavation of nine levels of archaeological remains was destructive to a significant number of historical artifacts.
