Many people are working longer hours. What are the reasons and effects?
These days, it is not difficult to see many people who work overtime, even on weekends. In my opinion, there are two main reasons of this situation and these would possibly lead to health and family problems as a result.

To start with the reasons of this trend, having excessive number of responsibilities at work is the main contributor of spending a lot of time at offices. Take managers as an example. To illustrate, in my country in most private companies, managers work long hours, because they have several responsibilities on their shoulders. Moreover, the main reason what encourages people to work overtime is the intention of earning more and more money. In most cities, people at supermarkets, cafes or restaurants work at nights, instead of sleeping to boost their income due to higher costs of living there.

Turning to the impacts of working long hours, I think issues related to overall well-being and family are more worrying. Firstly, as they work more than enough, they easily catch illnesses because of poor immune system. For example, the number of people who are suffering from stress-related illnesses, tiredness is increasing nowadays. In addition to this, most parents are allocating their most time outside and at workplaces. This will consequently lead to a lack of time they spend with their children at home. As a result, most children of those parents are going down to the path of the crime or developing bad habits due to a lack of parental aspiration.

In conclusion, while a huge number of responsibilities and willing of making more money are main causes of working overtime, in my opinion, the worrying results of this should not be ignored by those people.

**International tourism has brought enormous benefits to many places. At the same time, there is concern about its impact on local inhabitants and the environment.
Do the advantages of international tourism outweigh the disadvantages?

The* noticeable improvements in the transportation system have enabled travelers to make trips around the world. This modern phenomenon will probably benefit both tourists and host countries with well-rounded perspectives on life and a consistent financial income, respectively. Despite these advantages, I personally believe that its long-term detrimental impacts on local citizens and the environment are more worrying.

More and more countries are funding a substantial part of their budget on developing tourist attractions to draw the attention of visitors. This is because by receiving a high number of tourists from every corner of the world, host countries and locals boost their financial sides and reach a high level of currency exchange, which, hopefully, has great impacts on the local economy. Take Hawaii and the Maldives, where tourism is a main source of income for both the government and locals. On the other hand, international tourism not only benefits host countries but is also advantageous for those visitors. Many people who are keen on history and culture prefer visiting those cities in reality instead of watching videos about them on social media. By doing so, visitors can develop deep insights about the local culture and lifestyles of domestic people, or at least broaden their horizons. Furthermore, in this contemporary world, having trips overseas is considered a great way of disconnecting from consistent distractions at work, especially when people have hectic lifestyles.

However, the negative influences of international tourism on both local inhabitants and wildlife should not be easily neglected. First, the excessive number of newcomers visiting those cities indeed causes extra pressure on the local transportation system and infrastructure. This, consequently, leads to cuts in transportation systems, such as buses, and long traffic jams on main roads, which cannot provide adequate facilities for increased users. As the number of visitors increases dramatically, local governments should take on the responsibility of providing them with residential places such as hotels and hostels. And these new developments come at the expense of the natural habitats of wild creatures, like forests. As a result, while local humans have problems with the inconveniences in transportation systems and road infrastructure, wild creatures suffer from the loss of their natural habitats because of this modern phenomenon.

In conclusion, regardless of the financial benefits to local authorities and both academic and entertaining facilities to those visitors, I think international tourism is more disadvantageous for the local inhabitants of these host countries.*
