"Women for Freedom and Peace Initiative- A Call for the Release of Detained Women in Yemen and the Promotion of Peace

Women are not parties to conflict and should never be its victims.

To All Parties Involved in Yemen’s Conflict

Amid the worsening humanitarian crisis caused by over a decade of conflict, and in alignment with human rights and international humanitarian law, the Abductees’ Mothers Association announces the launch of the "Women for Freedom and Peace" initiative.

This initiative seeks the immediate and unconditional release of all women detained by both sides of the conflict, regardless of their affiliations or backgrounds. It calls on the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Houthi group to take moral and humanitarian responsibility by freeing these women, without any political or military considerations.

Such an action is not a sign of weakness but a victory for human dignity and a step toward peace and stability.

Key Provisions of the Initiative:

1. Immediate and unconditional release of all women detained due to the conflict, regardless of their affiliations or backgrounds.

2. Ensuring the safety and secure return of released women to their families.

3. Granting international humanitarian organizations access to detained women to provide necessary support, including medical and psychological care.

4. Ensuring humane treatment for women serving judicial sentences, preserving their dignity, and providing necessary care, with guaranteed release upon sentence completion.

The Abductees’ Mothers Association urges all parties to seize this opportunity to demonstrate commitment to humanity and justice. Let this initiative mark the start of a new year of restored dignity for the innocent, an end to women’s suffering, and the building of hope for a fair and just future.

في ظل الأوضاع الإنسانية المتفاقمة التي تعصف ببلادنا نتيجة النزاع المستمر منذ أكثر من عقد، واستنادًا إلى مبادئ حقوق الإنسان والقانون الدولي الإنساني، وحرصًا على القيم الإنسانية التي تميز شعبنا اليمني العظيم، تعلن رابطة أمهات المختطفين عن إطلاق مبادرة "نساء الحرية والسلام".

تهدف المبادرة إلى تحقيق الإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط عن جميع النساء المحتجزات لدى طرفي النزاع، بغض النظر عن انتماءاتهن أو خلفياتهن، ودعوة الحكومة اليمنية المعترف بها وجماعة الحوثي إلى تحمل مسؤولياتهم الأخلاقية والإنسانية واتخاذ قرار شجاع بإطلاق سراح جميع النساء المحتجزات، بعيدًا عن أي حسابات سياسية أو عسكرية.

إننا نؤكد أن هذه الخطوة ليست ضعفًا أو تنازلاً، بل هي انتصار للكرامة الإنسانية ورسالة سلام تعكس القدرة على اتخاذ قرارات تعزز الأمل والاستقرار.

بنود المبادرة:

1- الإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط عن جميع النساء المحتجزات على خلفية النزاع في اليمن، بغض النظر عن انتماءاتهن أو خلفياتهن.

2- ضمان سلامة النساء المفرج عنهن وإعادتهن إلى عائلاتهن بأمان.

3- السماح للمنظمات الإنسانية الدولية بالوصول إلى النساء المحتجزات لتقديم الدعم اللازم، بما يشمل الرعاية الصحية والنفسية.

4- ضمان معاملة النساء اللواتي صدرت بحقهن أحكام قضائية أو يخضعن لعقوبات وفقًا لمبادئ الإنسانية، مع الحفاظ على كرامتهن وتقديم المساعدات الصحية والنفسية اللازمة لهن، وضمان التزامهن بفترة العقوبة المحددة والإفراج عنهن فور انتهائها.

رابطة أمهات المختطفين، إذ تطلق هذه المبادرة مع نهاية هذا العام، تدعو الجميع إلى اغتنام هذه الفرصة لإظهار الالتزام بقيم الإنسانية والعدالة. لنجعل من هذه المبادرة بداية لعام جديد، يعيد الكرامة للأبرياء وينهي معاناة النساء، ويؤسس لجسور الأمل نحو مستقبل أكثر عدالة وإنصافًا.

The Abductees' Mothers Association commends the Court of Appeals in Aden for acquitting journalist Ahmed Maher of all charges, more than two years after his abduction.

The association urges the immediate enforcement of the ruling and calls for the unconditional release of Ahmed Maher, along with all abductees, detainees, and forcibly disappeared individuals.

وتدعو إلى سرعة تنفيذ القرار والإفراج عنه وعن كافة المختطفين والمعتقلين والمخفيين قسرا دون قيد أو شرط.

Focused Sessions on Transitional Justice Held in Aden

The Abductees’ Mothers Association, a member of the ” Justice for Yemen Pact,” organized a series of focused sessions in Aden to explore the principles and mechanisms of transitional justice.

The association held four sessions, bringing together political activists, victims, and women. These sessions were conducted as part of the “Supporting Peace in Yemen through Accountability, Reconciliation, and Knowledge Exchange (SPARK)” project.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about transitional justice, foster community acceptance of its principles, and build consensus on mechanisms that safeguard victims’ rights while laying the foundation for lasting and sustainable peace in Yemen.

Participants discussed ideas and strategies for implementing transitional justice as a means of promoting societal reconciliation and upholding the values of justice and accountability.

The sessions also addressed key issues, including accountability for human rights violations, community reconciliation, and measures to ensure justice for those most affected by the conflict.

Abductees Mothers Association Distributes School Supplies to Children of Abductees

As part of the “Correcting the Course of Peacebuilding Activities” project, Abductees’ Mothers Association implemented an “Education for Peace” initiative. This involved distributing school supplies, including complete school bags and uniforms, to approximately twenty students, children of both abducted and released individuals. This project was supported by the Ma’rib Development Foundation (MDF) and funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Peace Support Fund (PSF), in coordination with the Local Peace Cluster in Ma’rib Governorate.

The launch event was attended by Mr. Ahmed Al-Jaberi, Head of Media and Activities in the City Directorate, and Hamid Al-Aadhab, a member of the school activities team in the governorate. Ms. Sabah Hamid, Director of the Ma’rib branch of Abductees’ Mothers Association, emphasized that the issue of the abducted is the primary focus of the association. She stressed the association’s ongoing efforts to bring their plight to the attention of all relevant authorities at both local and international levels. She also affirmed that this activity is just one part of the association’s diverse initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the children of abductees and the released, assisting them in providing school supplies for their children.

Mr. Ahmed Al-Jaberi, Head of Media and Activities, spoke about the importance of addressing the issue of the abducted and released individuals and intensifying efforts to alleviate their suffering and provide them and their families with psychological and moral support. He expressed his gratitude to Abductees’ Mothers Association for organizing such supportive activities for the abducted and their children

رابطة أمهات المختطفين تنفذ مشروع توزيع مستلزمات مدرسية لعدد من أبناء المختطفين

ضمن مشروع تصحيح مسار أنشطة بناء السلام نفذت رابطة أمهات المختطفين نشاط “التعليم من أجل السلام” الذي جرى خلاله توزيع مستلزمات مدرسية(حقيبة مدرسية، زي مدرسي، وأحذية ) لنحو عشرين طالب وطالبة من أبناء المختطفين والمفرج عنهم بدعم من مؤسسة سد مأرب للتنمية الاجتماعية MDF وتمويل من برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي UNDP مرفق دعم السلام PSF، وبالتنسيق مع كلستر السلام المحلي في محافظة مأرب.

حضر التدشين الأستاذ أحمد الجبري رئيس قسم الإعلام والأنشطة مديرية المدينة، وحميد الأعضب عضو فريق الأنشطة المدرسية بالمحافظة، وأكدت الأستاذة صباح حميد مدير فرع مأرب لرابطة أمهات المختطفين بأن قضية المختطفين هي جُل اهتمامات الرابطة، وتسعى دائما إلى إيصال قضيتهم إلى جميع الجهات المعنية في جميع المحافل المحلية والدولية، كما أكدت بأن هذا النشاط ما هو إلا جزء من أنشطة الرابطة المتنوعة والتي تهدف إلى التخفيف من معانات أبناء المختطفين والمفرج عنهم لمساعدتهم في توفير المستلزمات الدراسية لأبنائهم.

كما تحدث الأستاذ أحمد الجبري رئيس قسم الإعلام والأنشطة حول أهمية تناول قضية المختطفين والمفرج عنهم وتكثيف جهود الجميع للتخفيف من معاناتهم والدعم النفسي والمعنوي لهم ولأسرهم، وقدم شكره لرابطة أمهات المختطفين لإقامة مثل هذه الأنشطة الداعمة للمختطفين وأبنائهم.

شاركت رابطة أمهات المختطفين عضو الشبكة اليمنية لروابط الضحايا في نشر البيان الصادر عن الشبكة تزامنا مع اليوم العالمي للمعلم الذي يدعو جميع الأطراف وعلى وجهة الخصوص جماعة الحوثي إلى تحمل مسؤولياتها والعمل الجاد على إنهاء معاناتهم وصرف رواتبهم وتوفير الظروف المناسبة لهم.

بيان صادر عن الشبكة اليمنية لروابط الضحايا بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمعلم

يحتفل العالم في الخامس من أكتوبر من كل عام باليوم العالمي للمعلم، تقديراً لدوره المحوري في بناء الأمم وتطوير المجتمعات. إلا أن المعلم اليمني يستقبل هذه المناسبة وهو يعاني من انتهاكات جسيمة لحقوقه الأساسية، مما يحول هذه الذكرى إلى يوم حزين بدلاً من يوم احتفاء.

فمنذ مايقارب عشر سنوات من الحرب التي تسبب بها إنقلاب جماعة الحوثي المصنفة جماعة إرهابية على الدولة ومؤسساتها، يعاني المعلم اليمني من أزمة إنسانية متفاقمة، تتمثل في حرمانه من حقوقه المالية والمدنية والسياسية، وتعرضه لمختلف أشكال العنف والانتهاكات، بما في ذلك الاعتقال التعسفي والاختطاف والتهجير القسري. وقد أدت هذه الأوضاع المأساوية إلى تدهور حاد في مستوى التعليم في اليمن، وتفشي الجهل والأمية بين صفوف الشباب.

إن الشبكة اليمنية لروابط الضحايا، إذ تدرك حجم المعاناة التي يتعرض لها المعلم اليمني، تدين بشدة جميع أشكال الانتهاكات التي يتعرض لها، خاصة في مناطق سيطرة الحوثيين وتطالب المجتمع الدولي ومنظمات حقوق الإنسان بالتحرك العاجل لإنهاء هذه الانتهاكات، وضمان حصول المعلمين على حقوقهم كاملة غير منقوصة.

ونحن في الشبكة اليمنية لروابط الضحايا، نطالب على وجه الخصوص بـ:

1- صرف مرتبات المعلمين ومستحقاتهم بشكل منتظم، لضمان استقرارهم المعيشي وتمكينهم من أداء مهامهم التعليمية على أكمل وجه.
2- توفير بيئة عمل آمنة للمعلمين، حفاظًا على حياتهم وكرامتهم، ولتشجيعهم على الاستمرار في عملهم.
3- الإفراج الفوري عن جميع المعلمين المعتقلين والمختطفين من سجون الحوثيين وضمان عدم تكرار مثل هذه الانتهاكات.
4- توفير الدعم اللازم لإعادة تأهيل البنية التحتية التعليمية التي تأثرت بسبب الحرب، والعمل على تطوير المناهج الدراسية بما يتناسب مع احتياجات المجتمع اليمني.

وفي ختام هذا البيان ندعو جميع الأطراف وعلى وجهة الخصوص جماعة الحوثي المسلحة التي يتعرض المعلمين في مناطق سيطرتهم إلى أشكال متعددة من الانتهاكات الممنهجة، إلى تحمل مسؤولياتها تجاه المعلمين، والعمل الجاد على إنهاء معاناتهم، وصرف رواتبهم وتوفير الظروف المناسبة لهم لأداء دورهم الحيوي في بناء مجتمع يمني مزدهر.
