Introduction:
These pie charts show how much sodium, saturated fats and added sugars were consumed during four typical meals by American people. (21)

Summary:
Overall, sodium and saturated fats were mainly eaten during the dinner in the USA. By contrast, Americans had most of the added sugars in their snacks. (26)

Body1:
Looking at the data of sodium, people in this country consumed this mostly during the dinner (43%), which was followed by lunch with 29%. Noticeably, the shares of breakfast and snacks were the same, 14%. (35)

Body2:
Similarly, saturated fats were also consumed most for the dinner with 37%. Although the figures for lunch and snacks were higher than 20%, the share of breakfast for this nutrient was lower, just 16%. (34)

Body3:
Unlike these mentioned nutrients, added sugars were taken more while people were eating the snacks, which was 42%. As for lunch and dinner, the figures were quite similar, just around 20%. However, the same data for breakfast was much smaller, comprising 16%. (42)
