Problems, won’t be solved, unless well defined !

I am not a fan of Trump, nor fan of any other politician of all hues, even I am not an expert in politics, however, I wonder why, during the weeks leading to US presidential election day, so many activists in political communities across the world, had been amplifying the fear of seeing Donald Trump in the White House! And now that he has captured the office, they are crying out as if they are mourning for democracy! Their reason? “Democracy would be in danger with an arsonist in the White House” !
By Jove! How is it possible? We can claim, the US and the world will witness one or two periods of four year unpleasant, chaotic, disastrous time, but the above mentioned clause, regarding the “democracy in danger”, implies a full confession of imbedded problems in currently democratic manners, employed in so called free world. If outcome of a democratic process, would be undemocratic, then we need to stop searching for our lost coins round the lamp post and try to find them somewhere around the place we have lost it !! Most likely in the dark ! Well defining the problem, pays off!

The same is true when considering problems in business and HR communities where the writer apparently is a practitioner. It’s really disappointing to witness how managers and executives are moaning with the pain of treating generation Z ! Even worse, some scholars-like business consultants, have already started trying to sell their solutions for the self invented generation Z’ problems to executives who have failed to address the real problems.

I strongly believe, generation Z is offering golden opportunities to HR departments and to the business as a whole, provided that executives try to back to basics and reconsider so many old denied problems such as, ignoring career management of all talents, fail to tackle demotivating elements in workplace, having a biblical definition of work, letting alone the culture to grow jungle, and . . .
I am not going to count the very advantages this generations is providing, but for the purpose of this article, I think, decisiveness, bravery, risk taking, logic, self esteem, self knowledge, and . . . couldn’t be blamed for a catalogue of errors, we have made through all the decades.
The provided opportunities would vanished in thin air, then in no time it will reappears in disguised as big conundrums ! Therefore we need to recall that never is late to be wise but right now it’s up to HR experts and executives, to feel the responsibility which already has been pinned on them, and start their own unique journey to redefine their problems !
