The Houthi "hypersonic" missile that was used against Israel this weekend is neither Houthi nor Hypersonic.

This is an Iranian Kheibar Shekan missile with a paint job. It is an advanced missile that can maneuver and perform atmospheric skip trajectory to extend range and make it harder to intercept, but it is not hypersonic. It's an iteration on existing ballistic missiles.

It also fell in an empty field so either it missed, or it was intercepted by Arrow-2 interceptors.

As far as I can tell the videos of a fire at a rock quarry are unrelated, and reports of a powerplant being struck have no basis in fact.

Hypersonic or not, these are not magic bullets that can pierce any air defense system. They cannot break the laws of physics, they have to slow down near the target in the denser air and get a fix on their target. Then they can be intercepted.
