faint mossy breath from the forest
a sea of darkness, moonlit village, slight rustling orchards
this time there’s croaking of frogs, distant
and a bottomless backdrop, atop
hugs the tiny grand world
on it, splayed an illegible flicker of my brilliant stars
whatever they mean
in a late night store
I still buy two of each meal

all this nightmare, to end up in more nightmare
