📢 Hey everyone! Let's explore the *Past Perfect tense with a focus on time markers, making it even easier to understand! 🕰

*🔍 What is the Past Perfect tense?*

The Past Perfect tense is used to describe an action that occurred before another action in the past. It helps us show the sequence of events.

*📝 Formula:*

Subject + had + past participle
Example: By the time I arrived, they had already left.**

Subject + had not (hadn't) + past participle
Example: She hadn't finished her homework before she went to bed.

Had + subject + past participle... ?
Example: Had Daisy dressed up when Chris left the room?

* Usage:*

  1. To show an action that happened before another action in the past.
  2. To talk about an action completed before a certain point in the past.
  3. To describe the cause of something that happened in the past.

*📌 Rules:*

*️⃣Use "had" as the auxiliary verb.
*️⃣Follow "had" with the past participle form of the main verb (see the list of irregular verbs HERE).
*️⃣Use the Past Perfect tense for the action that occurred first in the sequence of events.

*🕰 Time Markers:*

Before:She had finished her homework before she went to bed.
By the time: By the time I arrived, they had already left.
*👇🏻See more time markers in the comments below.*

🌟 Understanding the Past Perfect tense can add depth to your storytelling and help you express past events more accurately. Keep practicing, and soon it will become second nature!
