Beautiful architecture relies upon our experience. It keeps in mind what we've known to have worked in the past. It builds upon that strong foundation that the ancient mathematicians agreed upon being E L I T E.

There have been studies done where scientists compared the moods of their test subjects when they were surrounded by classical and modernist architecture. The results were clearly in favor of the old.

Nonetheless, we don't need soyientists to tell us this, it's intuitive.
