فصل: من أعظم ثمرات الربوبية :

It is to know the Sifat of Rububiyya and Allah's actions that affect the creation.

وما لم شاء لم يكن ..
["And what He doesn't Will doesn't happen.."]:

Yes this is true because how can there exist in the kingdom or creation of Allah عز وجل that which He didn't Will. So there is nothing in the universe except that Allah سبحانه had willed it and permitted its existence,
تبارك الله رب العالمين.

There is no doubt that this tawakkul and high level of yaqeen in the heart stems from the strong Iman in Rububiyyah of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, that He has the control of all affairs of the universe and His kingdom, and that nothing occurs in His kingdom except that He intended it to.

نسأل الله سبحانه وتعالى من فضله والله أعلى وأعلم وصلى الله وسلم على نبينا محمد

We pause here and continue next week with what pertains to tawheed al-Uluhiyya ان شاء الله.

أفلا تتقون :
{Then do you not fear Him..}

Do you not fear His punishment and anger, that despite your acknowledgement that He is your Creator, Provider, manager of your affairs, grants you life and death, then you give ibadaat upon your hearts, tongues and limbs to other than Him, which only Allah deserves. And you give worship to stones and trees.

Regarding his statement, ["Eventhough the acknowledgement of Rububiyya is wajib, it is not the complete wajib that raises the sword off the individual.."]:

Meaning, even though what they acknowledged is a part of a Wajib from asl al-Iman al-Wajib (which is their acknowledgement that Allah is the Creator, Provider, Owner, Mudabbir), so eventhough they fulfilled a part of asl of Iman, but because they didnt fulfill the remaining parts of tawheed (which pertains to tawheed al-Uluhiyya), this didn't allow them entry into Islam. So it is as though they believed from one perspective and disbelieved from another. For this reason they became mushrikeen. A person cannot be called a Muslim until he presents all of what falls under asl al-Iman al-Wajib, especially what is apparent, so that the ruling of Islam may be passed in his right, in this world. So it is necessary that he presents the complete tawheed and not that he acknowledges tawheed al-Rububiyya only, but then commits shrik in tawheed al-Uluhiyya. Or that he acknowledges some of His names and attributes but denies others, like His name Rahman. These people didn't fulfill that which would have entered them into Islam, which is the Shar'iah of the Prophet ﷺ, so they were mushrikeen and the Prophet ﷺ fought them and permitted their blood and wealth.

Therefore, tawheed al-Rububiyya is to acknowledge that to Allah سبحانه وتعالى belong actions that are exclusively specific to Him and that He alone performs them. The actions here are in reference to His actions that are muta'addiya/affect the servants, like their creation, Provision, Ownership, granting them life death and life and conducting and managing their affairs, and to legislate for them. All this falls under Rububiyyah of Allah for His servants. None can contest Him in this and none from His creation deserve a share (of right) in these actions. All are for Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

Hence, He alone creates, and none creates like Him, and He alone provides, and none can provide like He provides سبحانه وتعالى, and He alone gives life and death, and none does that like Him, and to Him alone belongs the ownership of the universe and none own like He does. He alone manages the affairs of the heavens and earth and the affairs of His servants in what pertains to their worldly and religious matters, none can manage and conduct these matters like Allah عز وجل does.

Whoever gives a part of this to a creation is a kafir in Allah عز وجل and is a mushrik, having committed Shirk in Rububiyyah. From His right of tadbeer is that He has the sole right to legislate a Shar'iah for them to follow in all aspects of their lives, meaning that which pertains to what is halal, haram, what is mustahab, and what is permissible or prohibited in the deen of Allah عز وجل, what relates to their dealings, transactions, rulings, judgements, punishments worship or their dealings with the kuffar etc,

With regards to all these matters, Allah سبحانه alone has the sole right to legislate this for them to follow. Whoever gives this right to other than Allah عز وجل has committed Shirk in Rububiyyah, major shirk.

Allah عز وجل says in this verse that by doing this, they gave to their tawagheet (a right) of tashree/legislation which is the right of Allah Alone and is from the actions of Rububiyyah. So Allah عز وجل called it an increase in kufr. So to permit a prohibited matter on which there is a consensus, or to prohibit a permissible matter on which there is a consensus is kufr in Allah عز وجل. Whoever gives himself this right to make something permissible or impermissible has made himself a Rab along with Allah because he gave himself a part of the Sifat of Rububiyya. He transgressed the limits and made himself from being a marbub/nurtured servant to making himself in the position of Rububiyyah, contesting Allah's right in that.

This is a part of Rububiyyah which the mushrikeen of Quraysh gave its right to some of their tawagheet and this was done before the message of the Prophet ﷺ, so they allowed them to make matters halal and haram. Likewise, other than changing the sacred months and permitting the prohibitions therein, they used to also have other matters of making halal and haram and then would attribute it to Allah عز وجل. So they would invent lies against Allah, and to intentionally invent lies on Allah is kufr. To say Allah عز وجل said such and such while Allah didn't say it, and he intentionally does this knowing that it is a lie against Allah, saying Allah made such and such thing halal while it is not, then this is kufr because it is inventing lies against Allah, and Allah عز وجل said,

مَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَحِيرَةٍۢ وَلَا سَآئِبَةٍۢ وَلَا وَصِيلَةٍۢ وَلَا حَامٍۢ ۙ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ ۖ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ.

Allāh has not appointed [such innovations as] baḥīrah or sā’ibah or waṣīlah or ḥām. But those who disbelieve invent falsehood about Allāh, and most of them do not reason.

Baheera, Saiba, Wasila and Ham were cattle who if reached a certain age, or gave a certain number of offspring, would be left alone for their tawagheet and it was made prohibited to ride them. So they would forbid to ride it or to benefit from its milk etc. And they would attribute this way to Allah سبحانه وتعالى and claim that Allah عز وجل prohibited it.

So Allah made it clear that this is inventing falsehood against Allah and it is a type of kufr.

However, here in this matter under discussion, it is in reference to giving the right of making halal and haram to their tawagheet, as was the case with nasi/postponing (the sacred months) whereby they would make a Sacred month non sacred. This was shirk in Rububiyyah which the early mushrikeen committed. So they would acknowledge the other aspects of Rububiyyah, except the part of tashree/legislation. Had they acknowledged this, it would have lead them to entering Islam because it would have binded them to make tashree a right of Allah Alone which is the Shar'iah of Allah عز وجل that He sent to His prophet ﷺ, hence it would have necessitated that they accept it. But they didn't make it exclusively for Allah, but rather gave a prat of this right to others besides Him.

So He سبحانه وتعالى Alone makes halal and haram. So this action of theirs, whereby they would make the sacred month of muharram non sacred (and swap ot for Saffar), Allah عز وجل called this in His Book النّسيئ/postponing, and made it clear that it is kufr. Allah عز وجل said,

إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّسِىٓءُ زِيَادَةٌۭ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ ۖ يُضَلُّ بِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُحِلُّونَهُۥ عَامًۭا وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُۥ عَامًۭا لِّيُوَاطِـُٔوا۟ عِدَّةَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ فَيُحِلُّوا۟ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ زُيِّنَ لَهُمْ سُوٓءُ أَعْمَـٰلِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ٣٧

{Indeed, the postponing [of restriction within sacred months] is an increase in disbelief by which those who have disbelieved are led [further] astray. They make it1 lawful one year and unlawful another year to correspond to the number made unlawful by Allāh2 and [thus] make lawful what Allāh has made unlawful. Made pleasing to them is the evil of their deeds; and Allāh does not guide the disbelieving people.} [9:37]

Meaning, despite their kufr in general, this action of theirs increased them in kufr. And as ibn Hazam said, the increase in something only happens from the thing itself and not from something else, which indicates to the fact that postponing (prohibitions in the sacred month) is kufr and is an action, which was their making halal what Allah had prohibited and prohibiting what Allah had permitted.
