TON has always been known for its low network commissions.

Commissions in TON are fixed (in Toncoin) and do not depend on the load in the network in any way. However, given the rise of Toncoin price, they are no longer so low in terms of dollars.

We have done some preparatory work in advance for this case:

1) The cost of commissions is a parameter in the blockchain configuration. By a network-wide vote of validators, this parameter can be lowered. This will lower the cost of all transactions in Toncoin and dollar terms. This functionality has been verified in a test network.

The income from commissions is not the majority of the validator's income, besides 50% of commissions are burned.

2) Formulated a simple guideline for smart contract developers on how to deal with lower commissions and added the necessary opcodes to the TVM in advance.

3) In addition, developed a new precompiled technology that will further reduce network commissions for the most popular smart contracts.

4) Finally, developers can use libraries for smart contracts to optimize their decentralized products.

This interview was done about a year ago. Note that absolutely everything that was said has come to fruition. Including even the prediction about the change of leaders in the crypto industry in the answer about Binance.

We have confirmed the technical advantage of TON and are actively moving towards mass adoption.

@wallet got a lot of updates, including a non-custodial TON Space wallet with built-in ability to exchange cryptocurrencies on decentralized exchanges. Developers got the ability to create mini apps in Telegram and link them to @wallet.

Each product of the ecosystem received a number of updates, and TON Connect became a link between them.

A deflation mechanism (burning a portion of network commissions) was introduced and in December we reached our first validation round when more coins were burned than created. Liquid Staking (tonstakers.com, @stakee) was launched, the torrent client for TON Storage was released, and Tonkeeper started opening .ton sites.

Core team was replenished with new developers: Andrey, who won absolutely all FunC contests, and Max, who created excellent TON tools for Python.

We also made steps towards publicity: the first step was the interview itself, then Kirill Alder did a live broadcast of the world record, and Kirill Emelyanenko and Alex Melman spoke at The Gateway.
