Good morning PDAO fam!

Have a quick announcement regarding the Meme Competition poll results:

The winners will be determined via duck races during the scheduled VC today in the group chat! Come on in to join live if you’re able to!

Reason being:

Some evidence was passed along that at least one of the people who entered the contest who are currently in a winning spot in the poll paid people to vote for them

In our opinion that is not the spirit of a community poll. It’s one thing to organically ask your friends and people you know to support you, but paying people to vote for you so that you can win a prize isn’t fair to everyone else who entered the contest and participated fairly themselves

So that being the case, it seems the fairest, most unbiased way to select the winners is at random by duck race! (Which is also just fun to run)

The winner may be one of the people who paid for votes, but they won’t be winning simply because they paid people to get them to win. They’ll then have won in a fair manner

I hope this makes sense, appears fair in action, and we look forward to seeing you guys for the duck races! ❤️

Well the turn out was HUGE! Looks like some of the memers had a lot of support backing them.

While the expectation was for community members to be the ones to vote for community members submitting memes, that wasn’t quite explicitly stated So we’ll go ahead and run with announcing the winners of the poll during our VC scheduled for tomorrow @ 9am PST / 4pm UTC!?

Considering the huge turn out for the meme competition, if there isn't significant enough voter turnout, we will settle the winner over a duck race!?

A duck race would allow for the winner to be decided fairly and entirely at random by the duck race game - no favoritism.
