The Security Battalions. Tagmatasfalites were Greek collaborationist military groups, formed during the Axis occupation of Greece during World War II in order to support the German occupation troops.

Steiner is main known in his role during the Battle of Berlin when Hitler ordered him to attack the northern flank of the huge salient that had been created by the 1st Belorussian Front's breakout.but he denied fuhrer orders because his army was basically invisible and it was lacking from manpower and supplies with most of its conscripts were inexperienced teens. After Hitler learned that Steiner was not going to attack declared that the war is lost and he will stay in Berlin until he committs suicide.After the war Steiner was incarcerated until 1948. He faced charges at the Nuremberg Trials, but they were dropped and he was released. In 1953 he was recruited by CIA found the Gesellschaft für Wehrkunde (Society for Defense Studies) , composed of former German military officers, as a propaganda tool and a military think tank for West German rearmament.Also in 1958 he wrote "The Volunteers of Waffen-SS: Idea and Sacrifice" and in 1963 also published his second book "The Army of the Outlaws". He died in 12/5/1966 11 days before his 70th birthday
