? Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Albares on Friday condemned the Israeli offensive on the occupied West Bank as a new level of “permanent violence” that “jeopardises the two-state solution”.
Israel launched its largest offensive on the occupied West Bank since the second Intifada, with raids and drone strikes targeting Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas, killing at least 19 Palestinians since Tuesday.
Israel has killed 663 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and more than 40,000 in Gaza since the beginning of its war on Gaza.
? "Stop the war; we don't want more than that."
Palestinians mourned the dead at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza after Israeli strikes. At least six members of one family were killed in the strike on Deir el-Balah, according to local sources.
? Hezbollah has launched hundreds of missiles and drones into northern Israel, describing it as the 'first phase' of retaliation for the July assassination of its top commander, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut.
Early on Sunday, Israel carried out what it termed 'pre-emptive' strikes on southern Lebanon. Over 100 jets struck over 40 Hezbollah launch sites, the Israeli military said. The Israeli air strikes killed at least three people, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
? "These are minors that have guns and weapons in order to threaten us."
Members of an evicted Palestinian family and their supporters marched onto land which was illegally occupied by armed Israeli settlers, in what's become a fast-growing encampment protest to get the land back.
The incident lead to altercations where Israeli forces were called to push the protesters out of the land.
The land grab would pave way for the establishment of more settlements, joining other settlements in the area, and leaving no where to go for Palestinian land owners.
? “We are determined to defend ourselves.”
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hamas of being an obstacle in the negotiation talks for a ceasefire deal during a cabinet meeting on Sunday, and called for more pressure on Hamas and its new leader Yahya Sinwar ahead of new rounds of talks this week.
Ahmad Abdulhadi, a Hamas representative in Lebanon said that Hamas had accepted US President Joe Biden’s previous proposal and added: “Netanyahu has added more conditions and made it more complicated”.
Osama Hamdan, a Hamas official, had told AFP the movement would’ve been willing to participate in the latest round of talks in Doha the previous week if they were to “set a timetable for implementation” of the proposal Hamas had previously agreed to.
Earlier in May, Hamas had accepted a ceasefire proposal and hostaged deal mediated by Qatar and Egypt, two days later the Israeli government launched its invasion of Rafah.
Acute malnutrition is spreading across government-controlled areas of Yemen, a new UN report has warned.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Technical Group in Yemen said malnutrition had worsened as a result of the combined effect of the spread of diseases such as cholera and measles, a shortage of nutritious food and a lack of drinking water.
Wider economic decline across the war-ravaged country, split between areas loyal to the internationally recognised government and Ansar Allah (better known as the Houthis), has also contributed to the food crisis.
The number of children under the age of five suffering acute malnutrition rose by 34 percent compared to the previous year across government-controlled areas, affecting over 600,000 children.

? Mourners take part in the funeral of two Palestinans killed overnight in an Israeli drone strike that targeted a car in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.
Israel said it had killed "two senior Hamas officials.” The Palestinian Health Ministry said two martyrs were brought to Jenin Government Hospital as a result of the occupation's bombing
? In this op-ed video, Peter Oborne explains how Labour leader Keir Starmer appears to be following Boris Johnson's ugly and cynical electoral strategy, shutting the door on marginalised voices, and how political commentators are expressing shock and bemusement at Keir Starmer’s brutal targeting of the Labour left on the eve of a UK general election.
Oborne talks about the Labour Files, a documentary by Al Jazeera based on the biggest leak of confidential documents in British political history, which uncovers how the Labour machine bullied party members and manipulated internal democracy. The documentary brought to light a hidden story of anti-Black racism and naked Islamophobia inside Labour HQ.
Oborne says Starmer’s Labour Party has been captured by a small, highly determined right-wing clique, one that is as insouciant of Labour’s magnificent history and democratic tradition as it is contemptuous of ethnic minorities.
