I've made an executive decision.

Last year at least 10 people left their mead behind after participating in the mead brewing class. Thats bout 5 gallons of student mead.

Usually I would bring your brew back to FSH for you to try it, but we need the glassware, and transporting all that mead in glass jugs will be cumbersome.

So I made the call and combined all your mead together and I am going to keg it and bring it to FSH next week.

It's not that bad considering it is a very oversimplified beginner recipe. But you guys can be the judge.

Our dear friend and colleague Dave Martel is experiencing an incredible health challenge in his family. Something that could devastate them. Please, if you can, help them in whatever way possible. Dave is a good man and a strong voice for our community, and we need to show that we help our own when in need. Talk is cheap, and our deeds define us. So let your deeds ring out in support of this great family!

Up in Narrowsburg cleaning up after a very un-kind winter. Finally made a spot to park the Irminfolk's firetruck.

Now we can talk about painting it.

I am thinking of spraying it a base color of semigloss green like OD 23070, close to the Irminfolk flag color.

Then adding an antique white stripe and the Irminfolk crest decal to the side.

And finally re-applying the gold leaf with black stroke that was on it when it was a fire truck.

Opinions?

Sometimes being a nonprofit is wild. You never know what to expect. Today we were donated about 50lbs of parachute cord.

Not even sure what to do with it but we'll sure find something.

This is the form which will be used to create the more than 6' tall gilded statue to be dedicated this August.

We think we have narrowed down a Hofmark for the Hof.
This is likely to be the design that represents our Hof and its district.
It will be used on all the shirts and stuff our generous donors have earned.
It will also be used on the dedication plaque.

It depicts sheafs of mature wheat under the sun among the mountains. Symbolizing productivity and accomplishment, it is inspired by the Latvian Jumis symbol.

Who is the Chernaya Mogila (The Black Grave) idol depicting? It is from the X century and was found in Chernihiv Ukraine.

There is a hole in his hand so the idol was intended to be holding something.

He is gripping his beard similarly to depictions of Thor, namely the Eyrarland idol.

Is this a Kyivian Rus Thor Idol?
