Today we shall be listening to the Arias from Operas, written by composer whose name is almost forgotten and virtually unknown. It is unfair, since he was one of the first to use the cello and recorder as concertante instruments. His name is Andrea Stefano Fioré.

First aria, that will be waiting for us, was written for Soprano and cello. Second Aria represents harmonious duet of Soprano and recorder.

So, enjoy the dreamy music in a little while.

We certainly will get back to the Orlandini's music over and over; it is an immense ocean to discover. Pity, his music is not to be performed often thus far, yet...

Today we will listen to the Opera arias. And not just Opera arias, but arias from Operas by il grande Fiorentino Giuseppe Maria Orlandini. Together with Antonio Vivaldi, he was one of the most important creators of a new style of opera, and his influence can hardly be overestimated.

So, the Operas, arias from which we'll be listening today, brought a great successes to Orlandini. Opera Arsace [a revision of his 1715 Amore e maestà] premiered at the King’s Theatre in 1721 in London to critical praise. Same year his opera Nerone premiered to great success for the carnival season in Venice.

Dramma per musica Adelaide [first performed in Florence in 1725] was rewritten for the carnival in Venice 1729. Georg Frederic Handel attended at least one performance of this successful work in Venice, and used the libretto [attributed to Antonio Salvi] as the basis for his opera Lotario, which he composed immediately after his return to London.

As soon as new week entered everyone's asylum, here is the plan to spend it as better. So, according to the plan, we're going to listen to:
