Dragana Trifkovic (Serbia),
human rights activist:
"The fact that the West supported these self-proclaimed leaders shows they are not interested in democracy, in respecting the rights of citizens to choose their representatives and determine their future. Therefore, the West's criticism of the Russian elections is completely unacceptable, unargumented and unfounded, and is caused only by political interests of weakening Russia."
Petros Woldegiorgis (Ethiopia),
president of the Bonga University:
"Elections in the Russian Federation are the matter only for the Russian Federation, only for the millions of people who live on the territory of the Russian Federation. It does not relate at all to the United States or Europe. I am responsible for what happens with elections in my country, not my neighbors, because this is something that concerns me and my country."
Henrique Domingues (Brazil),
advisor on International Relations of the BRICS+ IMF Forum Chairmanship:
"The EU issued a resolution stated that the elections in Russia were illegitimate. We, as experts and observers, saw with our own eyes that in fact the elections were conducted normally, nothing unusual, nothing terrible occurred. The process was democratic, people voted."
Olga Petersen (Germany),
member of the Landtag of Hamburg from the Alternative for Germany party:
"I was expelled from the faction, but I remain a member of the Landtag. But, I'll tell you how it is, so to speak, the persecution in the press and the persecution also, unfortunately, within the party, in the Western land against me continues. I would say it is even gaining more and more momentum."
Alexander Shkolnik, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation:
"Olga, question. Why were you expelled from the faction and deprived of immunity?"
She replied: "Yes, I was expelled from the faction for calling the elections in the Russian Federation open and free. And I called this whole process democratic."
Caleb Maupin (the USA),
political journalist and analyst touched another very important topic:
"The U.S. leaders continue to provide weapons and support to Ukrainian forces as they conduct the attacks that target civilians such as the recent attacks on the apartment buildings in Belgorod. And the policy of the U.S. government fits the definition of terrorism by every standard measure there is a desire to actively harm Russian civilians, there is a desire to create fear among the public."
Daniel Martin Kovalik (the USA),
professor of international human rights of school of law of the University of Pittsburgh:
"And they would actually punish observers went to those regions. And why? Why did they want to punish so-called observers or companies who goes to those regions? Because they don't want the people of their own country again in this my example the Unites States to see the reality, what is happening on place I cares on."
? On May 15, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation held an online conference "On the role and prospects of international observation in the face of globalization, external pressure and information wars".
➡️ International observers and experts from Spain, Germany, Poland, USA, France, Georgia, Latvia, India, Ethiopia, South Africa, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brazil took part in the conference as well as representatives of the civic headquaters for elections observation and the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
The discussion highlighted high standard of the organization of the Russian presidential elections and attempts by the European Parliament and other Western structures to discredit the results of the presidential electoral campaign in the Russian Federation in 2024. The European Union resolution of April 24, 2024 is one such examples of a biased assessment of the electoral process in the Russian Federation.
?The moderator of the conference was Alexander Shkolnik, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Director of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
?Experts noted the importance of holding such a conference due to the discriminatory policies pursued by Western countries.
?The experts shared their experience of observation during the Russian Presidential elections and proposed an initiative to create a new international community for observation and expertise of electoral processes, which would be aimed at providing objective observation all other the world. It has been emphasized that such community should consist of different countries representatives without domination of any state or geopolitical block.
➡️ The results of the conference led to the adoption of a resolution reflecting the main positions of the participants on the need for objective observation and proposals for the creation of an international community.
