?Masjid Project Update:

AsSalaam Alaykum,

May Allah reward you all for your duas and contributions to the Masjid project. Last week we received updated information from the Department of Transportation. They have a few general comments that we will need to address as we move forward towards the Site Plan Approval.

The City of Durham is requesting for us to put in turning lanes for our new project. Of course this will increase our overall cost. However, it also increases our traffic safety when entering and exiting our property. InshaAllah we hope to have the new drawings for the turning lane submitted to the City of Durham within two to three weeks. We will also be getting quotes for the development of the turning lane because it will require us to widen the road at South Alston.

Due to our fluctuating weather conditions, they are also requiring us to increase the size of our water retention pond to better control rain water release and disbursement.

The City of Durham is also requesting that we update our handicap accessibility throughout the entire site.

These are just a few of the major requirements that we are working to address in order to get closer to our goal of the Site Plan Approval. Please continue your duas and financial support of our New Masjid Development.
