There are some gorgeous beads in this assortment. When I start putting them away I'll take some pictures. This might be my favorite thrift haul ever. Happy birthday to me!

Today I'm going to hit up some vintage stores and maybe a couple art galleries before I head home. The weather has been nice, which is a pleasure after the bitter cold we've had recently.

The other two thrift stores were disappointing. One of them was large, but their prices were too high. The other one was just kind of sad.

I went to Gardner's books too. It was one of my favorite places back when I used to live in Tulsa, so it was comforting to find that it hadn't changed much.

I was mainly on the hunt for craft books that might offer new techniques I'd like to try, but I didn't pick anything up.

I made some pretty big purchases for my art business this year, and I'm still in the black. My iPad was my biggest expense, but I also bought shelving for my studio as well as a canopy and a couple small folding tables for markets.

This is definitely my best year so far, profit-wise.

I'm hoping I'll get invited for another project soon!

I've been in a little bit of a slump creatively this week. I've just got a lot going on, and I haven't felt terribly motivated to be creative.

But it's totally ok. I go through slumps from time to time, and I'm not afraid of them at all. It's part of the process. I never rush it, and I always know the inspiration will be there when it's time for me to go back to work.

I do think I'll probably put in some creative time this weekend. Maybe I'll pick up one of my unfinished projects. I have a bunch of them.

I started this piece in December for my performance at Factory Obscura, but I had to put it aside for a little while to work on the installation. I've had some time over the last couple of weekends, and I'm glad I finally finished it.
