"Orthodox Jew Stabbed in Zurich; Suspect in Custody"

On the evening leading into Sunday, in Zurich's Selnau district, an Orthodox Jew was critically injured in a stabbing incident. The victim is currently hospitalized and in a life-threatening condition. Authorities have detained a 15-year-old „Swiss“ citizen of Arab descent in connection with the attack.

The incident has prompted an investigation to determine the motives behind the attack. The German-Jewish newspaper was among the first to suggest the attack was antisemitic. However, Swiss newspapers have not yet confirmed this assessment, as the investigation remains ongoing and the event occurred less than a day ago.

The suspect is now in investigative custody as further details are awaited.
