A Time I Failed to Get Into University

Everyone experiences failure at some point in life, and today, I want to share one of my most challenging experiences. It was when I failed to get into university on my first attempt.

After finishing high school, I dreamed of studying at Bukhara State University. I spent months preparing for the entrance exam—I studied textbooks, solved past exam papers, and attended extra classes. I was confident that my hard work would pay off. However, when the results were announced, I was shocked and disappointed. I hadn’t scored enough points to pass.

Looking back, I realized several reasons for my failure. First, I was too nervous during the exam, which affected my concentration. Second, I didn’t manage my time well and struggled to complete all the questions. Lastly, I had focused too much on some subjects while neglecting others.

At first, I felt frustrated and discouraged. But instead of giving up, I analyzed my mistakes and prepared again with a better strategy. I improved my weak areas, practiced under real exam conditions, and learned to stay calm under pressure. The following year, I took the exam again—and this time, I passed!

This experience taught me a valuable lesson: failure is not the end; it’s a chance to grow. Now, whenever I face challenges, I remind myself that persistence and smart preparation always lead to success.
