This year Armenian cinema turns 100 🎬
To celebrate the anniversary in the realms of the “Armenian Kinodar” program launched by the National Cinema Center of Armenia TUMO Gyumri will screen the film “28:94 Local Time” by David Safarian. This 2016 film narrates the story of a woman and a man who try to survive in complex and near-absurd circumstances while still trying to stay humane. The screening is followed by a discussion with the director of the film, David Safarian which will be moderated by TUMO’s Film Program Development Coordinator Raffi Movsisyan.

The language of the film: Armenian and Russian with English subtitles

The program is funded by The Ministry of RA MoESCS.

Armenia in the early 90s, through the eyes of one of the best film directors of Armenian origin. This Film Friday is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Atom Egoyan’s film, “Calendar”, and promises to be full of emotions. We’ll also be having a discussion with the film’s cinematographer, Norayr Casper, after the screening to hear in first-person about what it was like shooting the movie. Join the discussion with Casper and film critic Zaven Boyadjyan to ask any and all the questions you're curious about.

Թումո Ստեփանակերտում, ցավոք, ստիպված ենք չեղարկել այս ամսվա կինոուրբաթները: Ադրբեջանի կողմից շրջափակված Արցախի օր օրի բարդացող պայմաններում մեր թիմն անում է հնարավորն ու անհնարը կենտրոնի և Թումո տուփերի անխափան աշխատանքն ապահովելու համար, սակայն էլեկտրաէներգիայի էլ ավելի հաճախ դարձած անջատումները, տրանսպորտի բացակայությունն ու մի շարք այլ խնդիրներ թույլ չեն տալիս շարունակել ցուցադրել ֆիլմերը: Հուսով ենք` դադարը երկար չի տևի:

Unfortunately, we have to cancel this month's Film Fridays at TUMO Stepanakert, due to the challenging circumstances in Artsakh resulting from the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan. Despite our team's dedicated efforts to maintain operations at our center and boxes, the frequent power outages, transportation challenges, and other obstacles have made it impossible to continue screening films. We hope that this interruption will be temporary and that we can resume the Film Fridays soon.

The Golden Apricot film festival came to a close last Sunday, but our Film Fridays are still apricot-themed! 🎥 This Friday, we will have the chance to watch Atom Egoyan's film "Calendar". The film, produced in 1993, tells the story of a photographer's visit to Armenia and the events that unfold during it. Following the screening at TUMO Yerevan, there will be an open discussion about the film with the film’s cinematographer Norayr Kasper and film critic Zaven Boyajyan.

The screening is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the film "Calendar".

Join us for FIlm Fridays in collaboration with the Golden Apricot Film Festival, as we kick off with a remarkable Armenian-produced film 🎥 Inna Mkhitaryan’s "Tonratun", featured in the festival's out of competition program, portrays five women – daughters, mothers, and grandmothers – who engage in discussions about life and hardship while baking lavash in a traditional Armenian village.

The film will be screened at all four TUMO centers:
