People die in traffic accidents everyday and it's just accepted to keep the system running.

Oil is a finite resource and we have enough nuclear weapons to wipe out all of humanity many times over. They do gain of function research on viruses which could also be movements away from a global pandemic that could kill millions.

Food shortages still occur to scale even though there is food abundance. There is a growing surveillance state. Privacy is gone. A growing number of women are encouraged into whoring. Dating aps are destroying nuclear families and functional relationships. There is a hyper consumerism market based around gathering your meta data to target you and make you feel inadequate.

But hey it your little suburb things seem fine besides the drugs divorce and 9 to 5 working stiffs. Children forced behind desks 7 hours a day to study technical subjects. Because you can escape into TV and phone apps and live a vicarious life of delusion.

Read the manifesto. It's not denying benefits of industry. It's zooming in on the destructive consequences of industrial-society to the psychology of our species and our physical environment. This is a conversation worth having that we are not having.
