This week’s (Dagu 3.11) session focuses on “Online work ” with our guest Amanuel Zebre.
Amanuel got into animation at the start of COVID and began freelancing on Fiverr in 2021. Over the past four years, he has worked on more than eighty projects, specializing in 2D animation, character rigging, & puppet animation with Toon Boom Harmony.
One standout project was for Tar Networks, where he created short but viral animations on toxic relationships.
Through Fiverr, he has built a strong network that has enabled him to work remotely with clients from all over the world.

In the shadow of Mount Kenya, a quiet revolution unfolds. Young girls once trapped in a cycle ofshame and missed education due to period poverty now walk tall. Unemployed mothers withtailoring skills, previously struggling to make ends meet, now find purpose in their craft.
The Rotary Club of Meru, chartered in 2006 and nestled in the picturesque Mt. Kenya region, saw these intertwined challenges and envisioned a solution. Their "Changing Lives: Dignity forGirls & Economic Empowerment" project addresses both issues with remarkable ingenuity.
Two tailoring workshops, established in Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties, form the heart of thisinitiative. Here, young mothers produce affordable, reusablesanitary pads for vulnerableschoolgirls. Simultaneously, 70 women receive tailoring training, gaining skills for long-termeconomic independence.
The impact ripples far beyond the workshops. Over 2,000 girls have received reproductivehealth education and free sanitary products, dramatically reducing school absenteeism. Evenboys have joined the conversation, with one student sharing, "I worked as a laborer to buy padsfor my cousin. I couldn't bear to see her miss school."
This project embodies Rotary's commitment to education and economic development. Byaddressing period poverty and unemployment simultaneously, the Meru club demonstrates thepower of holistic community solutions.
The Rotary Club of Meru meets every Friday at 6 pm at the Meru Slopes Hotel. As they continueto change lives stitch by stitch, they invite others to join in weaving a brighter future for theircommunity.
In the determined eyes of these girls and women, we see dignity restored and opportunitiesblooming – all thanks to a simple idea and the power of Rotary in action.
