The mandatory military service and conscription is going to have enormous impact on the group. Yes, we would think that arming and conscripting the very people who you are fighting is insane but. The likelihood that new conscripts would be treated and allowed arms in the same manner by the Junta is low.

The most likely scenario and tragic reality would be to be the used as ‘porters’, carrying, cleaning, maintaining, driving and worst of all, mine clearing and literally being used as human shields so that Revolutionaries wouldn’t attack them.

Especially vulnerable would be those from poorer backgrounds or those without loud voices such as rural villages that don’t have internet or phone service.

We don’t know yet how the drafting will take effect and we hope that everyone keeps close in touch with our unfortunate reality.

On top of this there will be even larger number of people forced to flee or escape creating another influx of asylum seekers and migrants.

Furthermore, we can expect a large numbers of new members for the PDF and other groups since joining the Junta and forces to slave labor or prison is expected, many will opt to join since this is the last opportunity for freedom.

Leaked video footage exposes the junta's Pyusawhti militias burning captured PDF members alive.

On November 7th, 2023, resistance coalition forces launched an offensive on Pyusawhti militias in Myauk Kyin Yan village, Magway division. During the battle, the Pyusawhti militias captured two members of the YPDF alive. It was unclear what had happened to them until the video, which was initially hidden from the public, was leaked and shared by Khit Thit Media today.

The nine-minute-long video file shows the Pyusawhti militias and junta forces torturing the PDF comrades, coercing them to denounce the revolution and the PDF movement. They were then dragged by chains to a tree, where they were bound and burned alive. The final four minutes of the video show Pyusawhti militants celebrating their horrible, brutal, and despicable actions.

The Pyusawhti militias in Myanmar serve as proxies for the junta, executing acts of brutality and human rights violations. These militias commit unimaginable cruelty, targeting civilians and resistance groups while shielding the regime from direct responsibility. They consist of various factions, including extremist Buddhist nationalists, members of the USDP, army veterans, and individuals aligned with the junta's interests. The Pyusawhti militias embrace ultra-nationalist ideologies, viewing opposition groups, ethnic minorities, and pro-democracy activists as threats to their envisioned dominance and Burmese Buddhist supremacy.

Throughout the conflict, the Pyusawhti militias have been extensively involved in violent attacks and human rights abuses against civilians, ethnic minority communities, and opposition groups. Operating alongside junta forces, they perpetuate widespread atrocities such as arbitrary arrests, torture, extrajudicial killings, and forced displacement of civilian populations.

Battle for Namkham has begun with the Junta having prepared extensive defenses especially utilizing their superior firepower to combat the offensives led by the Northern Brotherhood alliance. #operation1027 has beaten and battered Junta forces across the country taking over more than 300 outposts and liberating 13 different towns.
