Grammar Rule of the Day- Topic: The use of “Wish” for Regrets

- Rule:
- Use "wish + past simple" to express a wish about the present or future. Example: "I wish I knew how to solve this problem."
- Use "wish + past perfect" to express a regret about the past. Example: "I wish I had studied harder for the exam."

- Common Mistake: Many students use the present tense with "wish" when talking about regrets. Remember to use the past tense for present or future wishes and the past perfect for past regrets.

If your reading score is 8.0 or higher, here is a useful tip that can help you deal with Identifying Information (T/F/NG or Y/N/NG) questions. Having taken the real test many times, I've come to a conclusion that the following tip works 95% of the time.
Uniform Distribution Strategy:

In IELTS reading, answers to T/F/NG or Y/N/NG questions are often evenly distributed. For instance, if there are 6 questions, you might expect 2 True, 2 False, and 2 Not Given. If the number of questions is not divisible by 3, follow the "difference of 1" strategy: one type of answer is not likely to outnumber the others by more than 1.

Pattern Observation: This pattern is common but not guaranteed.
Confidence Required: This tip helps only if you are confident in your previous answers.
Final Question Tip: If unsure about the last question and you’ve followed the distribution pattern, choose the answer that maintains the balance.
