UPDATE on my computer situation: my computer has been deemed irreparable. As some of you know, I've been doing my best with my 2010 iMac and unfortunately it just couldn't handle the programs I was running in attempts to make better creative content. The good news is that most, if not all of my music is on my external hard drive. The bad news is that finances are incredibly tight and I don't have the money to get a halfway-decent computer any time soon. This is heartbreaking and frustrating, considering I was days away from dropping new music. I also have other commitments (like Ivory Hour, Discordant Dragons, and school-related work) that require full use of a computer. So, I feel like it's a last-ditch effort to go ahead and link my cashapp if anyone feels inclined to donate. Even just $1/£1/€1 really helps. Something I’ve thought about more than once is how Australian military recruitment ads are now tailored entirely to people’s self interest.

It’s my understanding that military recruitment efforts in the previous century were aimed entirely at men and with the notion of duty, honour and sacrifice.

The modern recruitment drive is aimed primarily at women and plays on the potential personal benefits, cheerful experiences and “career advancement”.

In half a century the slogans went from “fight for or defend your country” to “travel the world, learn interesting skills, have a great career”.
The Australian defence force is actually no longer regarded as national service but a personalised “job”.

This suggests to me that the more feminine an industry becomes, the more individualist and self-centred is the culture around it.
