Answer.AI recently released gpu.cpp — a wrapper around WebGPU compute shaders. You still have to write shaders in WGSL by hand, thus the main point is a greatly simplified C++ API, reduced boilerplate to set everything up, and streamlined compilation pipeline. Which isn't nothing, considering you acquire portability across NVidia, AMD and Intel GPUs at the very least.
