🇪🇸 ❄️- The Head of the Spanish Financial crime and money laundering unit (UDEF), Óscar Sánchez Gil, was arrested last week after €20 million of drug money were found in his home.The money is linked to a 13 tonnes cocaine haul discovered in Algeciras (Spain) last month. It is the largest recorded shipment of cocaine ever to reach the country.
Another million euros were found in Sanchez's police office.
His wife - also a police officer - was arrested as well, along with 13 other people.
It is noteworthy that, apparently, the €20 million are not even the proceeds of the drug trafficking waiting to be laundered. They are solely the remuneration for the couple's contribution to the drug trafficking ring.
