Do not sell yourself short.
When people lowball you for your creative services tell them to get lost. Their insulting offer doesn't take into consideration the lifetime of practice it took to gain your skill, the cost of a degree in some cases to learn to use the tools, the cost of paying adobe to use the tools or the cost of materials. The service You provide is an important one and not something that's easily found.

If they're dying and a surgeon can save their life in 10 minutes should they only get paid for 10 minutes of work or for the service they provide?
Does me spending 100 hours on your logo make it better? If I can produce the same product in 2 hours is it less valuable?
Do you value the product or the amount of time it took to make it?

When you accept low-ball offers you reinforce that what you do isn't valuable. If they say their friend can do it for free let them get what they pay for.
