**The concept of freedom in Islamic civilization differs from its concept in modern Western culture . In Islamic civilization, freedom means the liberation of a person from all forms of servitude and its constraints that demean and enslave humanity, including the servitude of desires and vices. One cannot attain freedom from psychological whims unless one is a servant of God.

In contrast, in modern Western culture, freedom is theoretically and practically directed towards unleashing desires and encouraging immersion in them, promoting them as one of the most important manifestations of personal freedom and forms of independence. Conversely, it opposes servitude to God and submission to Him, isolating religion and its morals and pushing them away from public life and the lives of individuals**.

Ibn Taymiyyah): "Oppression is placing something in the wrong position, and justice is placing everything in its proper position. He, the Exalted, is a Just Judge who places things in their rightful place and does not place anything except in the position that suits it and is required by wisdom and justice. He does not differentiate between equals, nor does He equate between the different. He punishes only those who deserve punishment, placing it where it belongs due to wisdom and justice."
