Ivermectin was discovered in the 1970s, has been administered in ~3 billion doses, and won the Nobel Prize in 2015. Ivermectin is used against parasites and most frequently against river blindness, which is common in sub-Saharan Africa, and this is one of the explanations for the continent's low mortality rate from COVID-19 infection, because ivermectin also has antiviral effects.

If the authorities had not banned ivermectin treatment for COVID-19, millions of lives would have been saved. The hands of those responsible are bloodstained and they must be held accountable.
