FEAST DAY: 25th of January

St Fincheall was from Slieve Guaire, near the present-day parish of Drung, Co. Cavan. Her hermitage was in the parish of Kildrumsheridan. Knockbride parish was dedicated to the female saints Fincheall and Brigid. Disert Fincheall was a dependency of Fore, and is probably the modern Drumhurt, near Cootehill.No details of Fincheall's life have survived, but scholars think she was a contemporary of St Brigid as their names are together in dedications locally.
