You can’t seem to go past one
Without taking a second glance
Your own image seems to impress you
As if you were really in love
With the one staring back at you

Watching you as you pass the mirror
And you seem almost a narcissist to me
Who only sees how you prance and primp
Staring long and hard at your appearance
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen
Another look so long or endearingly
Into that looking glass where we all see
Ourselves staring back at us
Could it only be me or are you actually
In love with what you see
Looking back from your reflection
And it is a little troubling to me
When I see you speak to yourself
Long moans of yearning
Puppy, I know you long to believe
That puppy in the mirror
Is your brother or sister!

In you I laid and grew for nine months
Clothed and guarded by your womb walls
You birthed me in pains yet with much joy
Air met my breathe when you said it's a boy
Knew I was home when I had my first suck
Your love kept me alive I don't want to die
But it's time to go no need for me to fight
Mum air left my breathe when life just begun
In your lineage I became the first heir
You showered me so much love and care
Taught me how to take my first steps
Deciphered for me puzzles in life steps
Fed me with seasoned food for thought
I watched you as you and death fought
Please prepare a place for me it's my turn

My time is up even the clock stopped ticking

Oh mirror
I believe you were made to taunt me
Few see beauty and peace
Most see something they can never be
Wanting is a burden
Having is a crime
What do I say to that?
Just give me some time
Paralyzed I stare
Oh mirrored me
Talk to me sweetly
Tell me
"wear and tear is normal
just confide in those who cry deeply"
I sigh alone fractured by despair
I walk outside
and I see mirrors everywhere

I walk in the shadows, a dead man alive,
Broken pieces, whispers of survival.

I'm the ghost of my existence,
Existence carved from pains' persistence.

I'm the stillness, I find my voice,
Voice of resilience, my soul's choice.

Though shattered, I rise, I rise again,
Again, Echoes of solitude,
my silent refrain.

Through the years I have watched and defended you in my mind,
even to myself, I exploit the plot of the story.

I know your love has its limits,
I saw the clear lines and lived with it.
I know I was treated differently! I told myself I've always wanted this.

It was easier to agree and trust others, right?
But with me, there are words added to the lines.
