?That which occurs in the creation from that which is not beloved to Allah, is from the Wisdom of Allah and leads to a beloved outcome, such as one making a mistake but repenting back to Allah.

?Everything that Allah has decreed universally or legislatively is from the Wisdom of Allah.

?Some of the wisdom behind the hardships, difficulties, and calamities that occur is for the slave to return back to his Lord.

?The Will of Allah الإرادة is in 2 aspects; universal and legislative كونية وشرعية.

?The 1st is the Universal Will الإرادة الكونية. This may be beloved to Allah or not but it must occur, such as one passing away. Everything that occurs is by the universal will of Allah. This Will is synonymous with the Mashiy’ah المشيئة the Will of Allah.

?The 2nd is the Legislative Will الإرادة الشرعية and it is not necessary that the intent from it will occur. And that which is intended from it is only what is beloved to Allah, such as one repenting to Allah محبة الله للأشياء.

?The verse in Surat Nisa والله يريد أن يتوب عليكم is an example of الإرادة الشرعية because not everyone repents but repentance is beloved to Allah.

?A Muslim submits to the rulings of Allah with certainty regardless of whether he is aware of the wisdom or not. Knowing the wisdom is a means to increase in faith but not knowing the wisdom is not a reason to decrease in certainty.

?Following the Prophet ﷺ is proof one loves Allah and is the way to obtain the love of Allah.

? المعيية العامة The General Ma’iyyah means that Allah is with the creation by way of His knowledge and that He encompasses all of the creation in His knowledge, seeing and hearing.

? معيية الخاصة The Specific Ma’iyyah means that Allah is with the believers by way of aid, support, guidance, and blessing and is specific for the true believers. One can attain this معيية through having taqwa and being a good doer مُحسن.

?In an authentic hadeeth it is affirmed that Allah descends every night to the nearest heaven at the last third of the night in a way befitting his majesty asking if there is anyone calling on Him so He may answer, if there is anyone asking Him so He may give them, if there is anyone seeking forgiveness so He may forgive them.

?The night begins at Maghrib time and ends at Fajir time.

? The last third of the night is a blessed time (وقت النزول الإلهي) and it is highly encouraged for the believer to stand in prayer and to ask Allah for his needs at this time.

?In the early years of Prophethood when the believers were persecuted in Makkah, the Prophet ﷺ was commanded to stand in the night prayer. The scholars mention the reason being is the inner and outer strength one attains by way of it.

?Al-Fudayl ibn Iyyad (187 H) said whomsoever is unable to stand in prayer at night nor to fast in the day has been prohibited because his sins have kept him back.

إذا لم تقدر على قيام الليل وصيام النهار فاعلم أنك محروم. كبّلتْك خطيئتك.
