San Francisco installed the first 100 cameras equipped with automated license plate readers as part of a plan to put 400 of the devices in the city.

Does Nvidia Geforce Experience collect data/spy on you?

As the title says, simple question. Does it go through your PC, collect Telemetry and so on? Ive only found a 7 year old post to something similar, is this still the case?

Are We Just Screwed?

I grew up during the beginning of the Internet becoming mainstream. The biggest piece of Internet safety advice I got was “Don’t tell anyone your real name or school”. I’m sure my data is just out there at this point. I’ve bought things in places like Temu and Shien. I’ve clicked on “accept all” on a bunch of websites just so the pop up would go away. I’ve placed mobile games that take your data.
What can a person even do at this point? Can you take back your data? I don’t think so. Is there even a point in trying to stay private when my data is already out there?

How to tell if someone is coming in your room while you’re away?

Mine is not a proper room. This is the place beneath the home roof. There I have a bed and table. Subletting in a flat. My room (place) does not have a door. I need to take a wooden ladder from the first floor to enter my room. This ladder step arrangement is fixed. So, no door. This is like entering into the room through the floor. I feel like someone (my flatmates) peeking into my place while I am away. Any suggestions?

Found a law firm in security check on iPhone

As the title says I did a security check through my iPhone and found a law firm had access to “shared notes” I do not know the firm and they specialize in commercial law. I stopped allowing access and deleted all of my notes but is this something I should be concerned about? I have no idea how or why they had access to my phone

Question... privacy nightmare situation

So, I think I'm f*cked with this one... In recent years, I've been more conscious of where/what I do/post online, however, that wasn't so true when I was younger. Recently, I've started to try to improve my online privacy and reduce my footprint. It's a lot of work! Anyway, I googled my email addy (which I had never thought to do before!) and up pops several results that reveal WAY too much info for my liking. One of those results is a freaking book! My name, email addy, an old blog, the "about me" from said blog, and few other bits are literally PUBLISHED in a BOOK! How do I even begin to mitigate that?!? Some of the other results also led to a few now defunct blogs that I've been unable to get in contact with the blog owners to remove said info.
Anyway, if anyone has advice about what I can even begin to do with this, I'd be eternally grateful!
