? Exciting Update on Running Google Chrome on Nintendo Switch via iDNS Portal! ?

Hey everyone! I’ve made significant progress on our project. Here are the latest changes:

? Isolated Environment: The service now runs in a completely isolated network and storage environment.

? Encrypted Data Storage: Chrome data storage is mounted as an encrypted image, linked to your user session. If you don’t connect for a while, it’s automatically deleted. But if you use it regularly, your data remains secure.

? Password Protection: Your data is encrypted with a password you set during registration. For anonymous users, a temporary password is generated.

Performance: A single server can handle over 50 parallel Chrome sessions, ensuring everyone can use it anytime!

? Expansion Needed: Currently, the service runs in the US. I need to deploy it on more servers across different continents.

? Call for Testers: I still need testers in the US. If you’re willing to help, please comment below!

? Thank You: A big thanks to our previous testers for your valuable feedback. It’s helping us improve performance for low internet speed connections.

We’re so close to making Chrome on Nintendo Switch public! Stay tuned and thank you for your support!

Nintendo of America has filed a …

Nintendo of America has filed a lawsuit against distributors of the MІG Switch in the United States. The lawsuit alleges that the website Modded Hardware was selling hardware and software designed for creating and playing pirated games, and even offering services to pre-install pirated game versions.

This legal action is part of Nintendo's ongoing efforts to combat piracy and protect their intellectual property. Alongside the lawsuit, the official website has been taken offline.

The true identity of those behind the MIG Switch flash cartridges remains unknown, but there are suspicions that they may be linked to russian developers. This lawsuit marks another significant step in Nintendo's aggressive strategy to crack down on piracy and illegal distribution of their software.

Dear NX Family, as you may …

Dear NX Family, as you may know a backup device released, and it is made by russians. The matter lies in the support of the russian army and its ongoing aggression in Ukraine. By engaging with products from developers who overtly celebrate Russian military symbols, we see increased the risk of our funds being funneled to support military operations against Ukraine, an action we unequivocally condemn.

Future firmware updates from Nintendo could introduce sophisticated measures aimed at detecting and neutralizing unauthorized devices. These could involve analyzing the speed and latency of flash memory cards, characteristics unique to genuine cartridges, thereby identifying and blocking counterfeit ones. This brings into sharp focus the stark reality of our choices, highlighting not just a breach of Nintendo's terms but a gamble on our console's functionality.

It's crucial to remember the broader context of our actions, especially where every transaction has the potential to contribute to the war where russians and killing Ukrainians. The enthusiasm and passion for gaming must not overshadow our responsibility toward promoting global peace and ethical consumerism. By making informed decisions and supporting companies that align with our values, we not only enhance our gaming experience but also take a stand against russian aggression and in support of Ukraine.

Let us, as a community, navigate our passion for gaming with a commitment to ethical choices and a keen awareness of the impact these have beyond our screens. By doing so, we affirm our support for peace, justice, and the sovereignty of nations, sending a clear message against russian aggression. Our actions in the gaming world hold the power to contribute to a larger, global cause — let's ensure they reflect our dedication to a just and peaceful world.

Don't buy russian products, they pay taxes that support the russian army. Wait for clones or use alternatives.

Another Blow to the Homebrew Community: AtmoPack-Vanilla Repository Vanishes

In a series of events that continue to shake the core of the Nintendo Switch homebrew community, the AtmoPack-Vanilla repository, a popular package for the Atmosphere custom firmware, has been deleted by its owner. The repository, previously accessible at github.com/THZoria/AtmoPack-Vanilla, was known for providing a streamlined and user-friendly installation process for Atmosphere, enhancing the custom firmware experience for Nintendo Switch users.

This deletion comes in the wake of Nintendo's aggressive legal stance against emulation and modification tools, highlighted by the recent $2.4 million settlement with the developers of the Yuzu emulator. Following the settlement, several other repositories related to Nintendo console emulation and homebrew applications, including Citra for the 3DS and the FBI homebrew application, have also disappeared.

The disappearance of the AtmoPack-Vanilla repository is a significant loss for the homebrew community, which relies on such resources to explore and expand the capabilities of their Nintendo Switch consoles beyond official functionalities. The legal pressures exerted by Nintendo seem to be having a chilling effect, prompting developers and repository owners to preemptively remove their projects to avoid potential legal battles.

While the deletion of these repositories represents a setback for the homebrew and emulation communities, it also sparks a broader discussion about the balance between copyright protection and the rights of consumers to modify and enjoy their legally purchased hardware. As the dust settles, the community is left to ponder the future of homebrew development and the lengths to which companies will go to protect their intellectual property rights.

The series of repository deletions underscores the precarious position of homebrew developers and the need for a nuanced conversation about the legalities and ethics of emulation and device modification. As we move forward, the hope remains that a middle ground can be found, where innovation and copyright coexist without stifling the spirit of exploration and creativity that defines the homebrew community.
