Negative emotions ruin productivity for hours
I love making lists and setting goals. However, today I couldn’t add a recruiter to LinkedIn (I’m job hunting) and discovered that I company I applied to has horrible employee reviews, and those two things made job hunting feel even more impossible. Plus we are back to work today and I was not jazzed about that.
It derailed my productivity for HOURS. Didn’t go to the gym, didn’t work on other stuff on my list. How do I keep hopelessness from ruining my productivity?

How can I get back my "I'm him" mindset/motivation? Text
From early 2023 until about August or September I (23M) would go through phases of extreme motivation/confidence, and phases of extreme depression. Throughout even the depression/low motivation phases I would still get shit done and go to the gym everyday.
But now After August or September I haven't been able to get back to the good phases again and I can probably count on one hand how many days I had the "I'm him" mentality since then. Worst part is, I can't even bring myself to get things done or go to the gym anymore. I've also seemingly completely given up on dating even though throughout the year until July or August I would at least semi-regularly go on dates with women but now because of the lack of confidence and motivation I just can't be bothered to talk to anyone, message anyone, or even open a dating app.
This bad mindset I can't seem to get out of also changed my social media life because I can't be bothered to post anything on my Instagram story. Before, I would at least once or twice a week post something what I'm doing, my dogs, or just myself, but now can't because of the lack of confidence. I liked posting occasionally on my story because for me it was a good way for people to contact me and it was pretty common for people to reply to them and talk or go out with someone.
Any tips on how to break this downward spiral? It's legit gotten so bad and I need to pull out of this.

Strive for greatness Discussion
What does it really mean to strive for greatness? It's more than just setting goals and working hard to achieve them. It's about constantly pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones, learning from our mistakes, and never giving up on our dreams.
The path to greatness is not an easy one, and there will be obstacles and setbacks along the way. But it's important to remember that failure is not the end, but rather an opportunity to learn and grow. With every challenge we overcome, we become stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to achieve our goals.

pov: overcoming paralysis by analysis Discussion
it's not so much about doing all the steps, it's just about taking the first step.
recently I've developed a ton of analysis paralysis which build up to all day headaches, thinking about thinking about thinking...
the answer to was simple:
you know Nike's "Just do it" slogan? yeah that's about it.
The cliche stuff is mostly cliche because it works, but we all ignore the simple stuff waiting to find our mystical magical key, the shortcut, the easy route.
Turns out that the easiest path is the just do it path, the path that seems hard now. this path leads to easy later... which is much nicer to sit with as someone who is constantly over analyzing and underdoing.
I was so worried about step 21 on my new endevour (that i'de have too much clients) that I almost didnt even bother to try and make my website landing page. How silly is that? it's ridiculous.
How can we ever go anywhere if we don't do some stuff, create some stuff, try some stuff?
If we just think about it all day long, nothing changes, and the only thing increasing is the tension of ourselevs and where we "ought to be"
so the solver for all our overthinking is doing. It's not doing right even, just doing at all. If you fail, good, you tried, try again, do some more. -- you're now infinitely better off than the thinker stuck thinking for eternity.
Lesson: Stop worrying about step 21 and just take the current step first, then the next... the sooner you take step 1 the sooner you'll reach 21. (or find out a new direction you want to go, using your EXPERIENCE, not just your thoughts)
I still have a lot to get doing today, so i better end it here for now. lots of steps to be taken.

[Image] Don’t hold on to the resentment of the bad, but be grateful for the lessons you have over come. All your life to this moment is the good and bad that has happened to you. It has truly made you into the person you are today, and it’s your decision on how you make the day from this point on...
