Shaykh ‘Aziz bin Farhān al-’Anzi, [may Allāh preserve him], said:
In Arabic, the concept of an orphan varies slightly depending on context:
Al-Yateem (اليتيم): Refers to a child who has lost their father. This term is typically used for human beings.
Al-‘Iji (العجي): Refers to a child who has lost their mother.
Al-Lateem (اللطيم): Refers to a child who has lost both parents.
For animals, however, al-Yateem specifically describes a young animal that has lost its mother.

Shaykh Daghash al-‘Ajami, [may Allāh preserve him], said:
“Your worth is defined by where you choose to place yourself.
If you sit among the trivial and adopt their ways, people will see you as one of them. But if you align yourself with the wise, people will see you as part of their circle.
Often, the same item is valued cheaply in one setting and highly in another. The distinction lies not in the item itself but in where it is presented.
Therefore, never diminish your own value.”

Abd-Allāh al-Makki [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him] said
“Tawūs, entered upon me requesting me to supplicate to Allāh for him. Thereupon which, I said to him:
‘Supplicate [to Allāh] for yourself. Certainly, Allāh accepts the supplication of the person who is in need, when he calls upon Him.’”
Hilyat ul-Awliyā’a, 4/10 | Abu Nu‘aym al-Asfahāni, [may Allāh have mercy on him].

Shaykh Rabee bin Hādi al-Madkhali, [may Allāh preserve him], said:
“Ēsa (Jesus) is a Messenger of Allāh and a human being, born to Maryam (Mary). He is the Word¹ of Allāh, brought into existence by His command, ’Be,’ and he was. We acknowledge him as a Noble Messenger and one of the Messengers of Firm Resolve,² who faithfully conveyed his message and fulfilled his trust. Going beyond this acknowledgment into excess leads us into exaggeration, which can result in disbelief in Allāh, the Most High.“

Footnotes
¹. In the Qur’ān, ‘Ēsa (Jesus) is called the “Word” of Allāh since he was created with the word “Be!”
². Nūh (Noah), Ibrāheem, (Abraham), Mūsa (Moses), ‘Ēsa (Jesus), and Muhammad are called the Messengers of Firm Resolve.
‘Umar bin ‘Abdul-‘Azeez wrote to al-Imām al-Awzā‘ee [may Allāh have mercy on them both]:
“To proceed¹: Whoever frequently remembers death will find contentment in the simple things of this world. And whoever knows that his words are counted among his deeds will speak only what benefits him. Peace be upon you!”
Siyar A’lām an-Nubalā’a, 5/133 | Al-Imām adh-Dhahabi, [may Allāh have mercy on him].
Translation by: Authentic Quotes
¹. The phrase “To proceed” (or as some translate, “Following on from that”) is a stylistic feature of traditional Arabic correspondence. It is believed to be a form of “Faslul Khitāb” (the decisive speech) that was gifted to Prophet Dawūd, peace be upon him, as mentioned in the Qur’ān:
وَءَاتَيۡنَـٰهُ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَفَصۡلَ ٱلۡخِطَابِ
“…and We [Allāh] gave him [Dawūd] wisdom and decisive speech.”
Surah Sa‘d, al-Āyah 20
Some scholars interpret this “Faslul Khitāb” to be the expression “‘Amma Ba’d” (meaning “To proceed” or “Following on from that”). For further commentary, refer to ibn Abi Hātim in his Tafseer, 10/3237, and at-Tabari in his Tafseer, 21/173.
If you receive a phone call from +44 7365 187875, an unknown number or any other number asking for a code, do not respond or send any information. In fact, avoid answering calls from unknown numbers altogether. This is a common scam tactic to hack into WhatsApp and potentially compromise your phone. Never share codes with anyone.

Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him], said:
“We should not regard honouring a guest as merely a cultural practice; rather, we should see it as an act of worship. This is because the Prophet, صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said, ‘Whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day should honour his guest.’ Thus, honouring a guest is an act of devotion that draws a person closer to their Lord and becomes a means for their spiritual purification and righteousness, by the Grace and Will of Allāh.”
Fatāwa Nūr ‘alā ad-Darb, 11/274 | Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him].
