Our brain is basically made of neural networks which communicate by electrical signals between them, neurons make synapses (attachments) with each other and they are thought to hold our memories and learnings.

Suppose that a certain group of neurons are responsible for your running skills and other group for identifying sounds.
If you were in a dark jungle and you heared roar then a tiger showed up so you ran away and escaped, the next time you hear this sound you will predict that this is going to be a tiger and run even before seeing it. Simply, the neurons that are responsible for identifying the roar sound has fired together with the ones responsible for running in the first time, so they wired together and activated the next time…

The example is not precise but it’s for the matter of clarification.
