HOWEVER, after reading the diary of Witold Pilecki, the Polish soldier who snuck into Auschwitz to start up the myth of it being a death camp to the outside world says that his own resistance organization killed Poles IN Auschwitz who were collaborators with the Germans.

He says Poles that worked in the camp Hospital would kill collaborators with an injection when they went in for their checkups/screenings.

So it's leading me to think perhaps the the Germans were treating his tuberculosis, but one of Witold Pilecki's soldiers killed Kolbe.
