Du'a to relieve sadness |
Whoever hears it should learn it

عن عبد الله ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسولُ الله ﷺ: ما أصاب أحدًا قطُّ همٌّ ولا حزنٌ فقال:

اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّي عَبْـدُكَ ابْنُ عَبْـدِكَ ابْنُ أَمَتِـكَ نَاصِيَتِي بِيَـدِكَ مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤكَ أَسْأَلُـكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّـيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ أِوْ أَنْزَلْتَـهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ أَوْ عَلَّمْـتَهُ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِـكَ أَوِ اسْتَـأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الغَيْـبِ عِنْـدَكَ أَنْ تَجْـعَلَ القُرْآنَ رَبِيـعَ قَلْبِـي وَنورَ صَـدْرِي وجَلَاءَ حُـزْنِي وذَهَابَ هَمِّـي
O Allah, I am Your slave, and the son of Your male slave, and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured, and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation, or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my distress.
إلا أذهب اللهُ همَّه وحُزنَه، وأبدله مكانه فرحًا، قال: فقيل: يا رسول الله، ألا نتعلَّمها؟ فقال: بلى، ينبغي لمن سمعها أن يتعلَّمها.

Ahmad 1/391, and Al-Albani graded it authentic.

‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood radiallaahu ‘anhu relates that the ‎ﷺ would supplicate:

“O Allaah! I ask You for guidance, piety, safety and well-being, and contentment and sufficiency.”

[Allaahumma innee as’alukal-hudaa wat-tuqaa wal-‘afaafa wal-ghinaa].

[Sahih Muslim (no.2721)]

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

**"Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.

[**Qur’ān: 2:127]

Easy Dhikr For Relief

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : من أصابه هم أو غم أو سقم أو شدة فقال : الله ربي لا شريك له كشف ذلك عنه

The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam said: “Whoever is afflicted with anxiety or depression or an illness or a hardship and says:

'Allaahu Rabbee Laa Shareeka Lahoo'

(Allāh is my Lord, He has no partners)

Then that (affliction) will be removed from him.”

[صحيح الجامع ٦٠٤٠ ، حسنه الألباني]

Sa'at Al Istijaba (Dua Acceptance Time 🤲🏻)

Jabir relates that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“Friday is comprised of twelve hours. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him.

Seek it in the last hour after Asr.”

[Abu Dawud 1048, Sunan An Nasa'ī 1390, Mustadrak Al Hakim 1032]

What To Say When You Enter An Empty House

From Nāfi' who narrated that 'Abdullāh Ibn 'Umar Raḍi-Allāhu 'Anhumā said: “When you enter a house which is uninhabited then say: 'Assalaamu 'Alainaa Wa 'Alaa 'Ibaadillaahiṣ Ṣaaliḥeen' (Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allāh).”

[الأدب المفرد ١٠٥٥ ، حسنه الألباني]

A Supplication In Prayer That Amazed The Prophet ﷺ

‎عن ابن عمر قال بينما نحن نصلي مع رسول الله إذ قال رجل من القوم : الله أكبر كبيرا والحمد لله كثيرا وسبحان الله بكرة وأصيلا ، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : من القائل كلمة كذا وكذا ؟ فقال رجل من القوم : أنا يا رسول الله قال : عجبت لها ، فُتحت لها أبواب السماء
‎قال ابن عمر : فما تركتهنّ منذ سمعت رسول الله يقول ذلك

From Ibn ‘Umar Raḍi-Allāhu 'Anhumā who said: Whilst we were praying with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ a man from amongst people recited;

Allaahu Akbaru Kabeeran Wal Ḥamdulillaahi Katheeran Wa SubḥaanAllaahi Bukratan Wa Aṣeelaa,

(Allāh is Great, the Greatest, and praise belongs to Allāh in abundance, and glorified be Allāh at the beginning and end of the day),

So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ asked (after prayer): “Who said such and such?!!”

The man replied: “I did O Messenger of Allāh.”

So the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “I was amazed by it, for it opened the gates of heaven.”

Ibn 'Umar Raḍi-Allāhu 'Anhumā said: “I have not abandoned them (i.e these words) since I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saying that.”

[صحيح مسلم]

‏كان رسول الله ﷺ يقول:
‏" اللهم كما أحْسَنتَ خَلْقي؛ فأحسِنْ خُلُقي".
‏صححه الالباني.
‏٢٦٥٧ صحيح الترغيب والترهيب

‏O Allah, Just as you have perfected my form (creation); likewise perfect my character.
‏اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا أحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِي؛ فَأَحْسِنْ خُلُقِي

Mu’adh ibn Jabal reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, took me by the hand and he said, “O Mu’adh, I swear by Allah that I love you. I swear by Allah that I love you. **O Mu’adh, I advise you not to forget supplicating at the end of every prayer, saying:

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner**.”
