Putin: Western Strikes on Russian Territory Will Mean NATO’s Direct Involvement in the War

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin warned that strikes on Russian territory using Western high-precision weapons would signify NATO’s direct involvement in the conflict.

He claimed that Ukraine would rely on satellite data and flight instructions from its allies for such attacks.

“In reality, only NATO servicemen can input flight tasks into these missile systems; Ukrainian servicemen cannot do this. If such a decision is made, it will mean direct participation of NATO countries in the war in Ukraine. This will imply that the USA and European countries are at war with Russia. We will make decisions accordingly, based on the threats posed to us,” Putin stated.

Russia is being forced to store gas from the Arctic LNG 2 project as Western sanctions deter potential buyers. Since loading began last month, three vessels have shipped gas, but some remain in Russian or European waters. Sanctions imposed by the U.S. and Palau on carriers have made sales increasingly difficult.

The largest potential buyers are India and China, which are attempting to resist U.S. sanctions.

Local activists report that Maxim Soroka, head of the Directorate of Centralized Service and Development of Cultural Institutions of Crimea, has reassured residents that the situation is under control by the "Ministry of Culture of Crimea."
