Two inscriptions have been found in the region of Mt. soracte, which contains the name of the god [Soranus], one at the northern foot of the mountain, near the city of Falerii (now Cività Castellana), the other on the peak.

In both cases, the dedication is made to Apollo Soranus.

On the other hand, Servius identifies Soranus with Dis, the Roman god of the Underworld and death; this is the only literary reference to a god called Soranus in italy.

According to philosopher and Mysteries initiate Plato, the soul (ψυχή - psyche) is composed of three parts (tripartite soul):

— the logistikon (λογιστικόν - logos/ reason), located in the head.
— the thymoeides (θυμός - thumos/ spirit), located in the heart / chest region.
— the epithymetikon (επιθυμητικόν - desire/ appetite,) located in the stomach.

Note: this model is similar to the Vedic model of chakras/ energy centers. The human being must be in balance in order to live a healthy and fulfilled life.
