A distant ringing sounded through the winter silence. The moose listened attentively into the night, while his gaze was lost in the snow-covered treetops on the horizon. It was very quiet, only the whispering crackle of snowflakes could be heard, along with the deep hum of the hills sleeping under the blanket of snow; silently the stars twinkled in the darkness.

Un tintement lointain perçait le silence de l’hiver. L’élan écoutait attentivement la nuit, tandis que son regard se perdait dans les cimes enneigées à l’horizon. Tout était calme, on n’entendait que le crépitement chuchoté des flocons de neige et le bourdonnement profond des collines endormies sous la neige ; les étoiles scintillaient silencieusement dans l’obscurité.
