#BabyJohn An Okaish Remake

(2.5 stars + 0.5 for Salman’s cameo)

#BabyJohn, a remake of #Theri with slight screenplay tweaks, offers a mix of mass moments and a decent narrative. [ Film also reminds of #Simmba #Ghajini and few more films based on similar story line. ] The first half is slow, but a strong pre-interval and interval block (featuring a scene-stealing performance by Rajpal Yadav) are Powerful.

Director #Kalees presents #VarunDhawan in a fresh mass-action avatar. While Varun delivers a commendable effort in his first full-fledged mass role, he struggles to match the charisma and intensity of #ThalapathyVijay from the original.

The second half improves with better pacing and some engaging action and emotional sequences. Highlights include Thaman’s fantastic BGM and a power-packed cameo by #SalmanKhan, which undoubtedly elevated the film’s impact .

The supporting cast, including #JackieShroff and #KreetySuresh, deliver solid performances, while #Kalees’ direction feels underwhelming. Despite being mentored by #Atlee, Kalees relies on formulaic storytelling and misses the opportunity to bring something fresh on board.

For those unfamiliar with #Theri, Baby John is a one-time watch. At the box office, the film will have average run, buoyed by the festive Christmas and New Year holidays.
