In light of the continued litigation of the plandemic in Congress, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion, it is important to remember the tyrants from 2020. And whether you want to allow yourself to believe it or not, Bill Lee was up there with the best of them.

In this unforgettable tweet, our Tennessee Governor shamed and publicly ridiculed families that had chosen to celebrate Thanksgiving together in gatherings instead of staying locked in their homes. The indictment was that these families were now responsible for rising numbers and deaths from an invisible virus.

This intimidation was purposed to shame families into staying home and not to attend churches, public gatherings, or family get-togethers for the upcoming Christmas holiday season.

And what is worse than these atrocities that were committed against the people of this state is that fact that none of these elected officials, including Governor Bill Lee, have ever apologized, admitted wrong doing, or made any such commitment to never repeat those errors. And in the absence of repentance, there can (and should) be no forgiveness. 

Men like Governor Bill Lee have proven that they are unfit for the office they hold. God forbid if Tennessee ever finds itself again in need of its chief executive to take the reigns in the midst of a crisis while this man is still Governor. 2026 can't come fast enough.

Since then, Bill Lee has given away billions from the public coffers to his friends in big business. His administration continues to file model legislation year after year pushing globalist agendas in our state. Just last year he worked tirelessly to pressure legislators to dismantle the 2nd Amendment here in Tennessee. Thankfully, he failed.

And now, he wants to follow the lead of national special interest groups like Americans for Prosperity who want to pump tax dollars into private schools and homeschools bringing further government regulation into our homes and our private lives. So far, he has failed at that mission also.

So now, the Governor is doubling down and endorsing candidates who vow to support his school choice initiatives in the upcoming 114th General Assembly. But these endorsements amount to little more than a quid pro quo. He's buying votes for his legislation.

You should know that EVERY candidate endorsed by Governor Bill Lee has made a commitment on their vote in exchange for that endorsement. That alone should give you a great deal of caution as you are considering who deserves your vote.

If a candidate is willing to sell off their votes before they are even in office, what do you think they will do once they are elected?

Tennesseans Didn't Elect Bill Lee To Have Him Cancel Christmas

Tennessee has not been shielded from unconstitutional government overreach perpetrated on citizens by their state’s response to COVID-19.

FRANKLIN, TN – May 20, 2024 – Tennessee Stands is proud to partner with the Only Citizens Vote Coalition and add our name to their May 17th letter to Speaker Johnson and Republican leadership urging them to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act sponsored by Texas Congressman Chip Roy.

“The SAVE Act would amend the National Voter Registration Act to require that states obtain documentary proof of citizenship when registering people to vote in federal elections. It also requires states to establish a process for removing non-citizens from voter rolls and adds federal penalties for individuals who knowingly register a non-citizen to vote in a federal election.”

According to TN Fair Elections, non-citizens can get a driver’s license in TN. It looks like any other driver’s license except that the Class designation will be XD or XM. The TN Department of Safety (and many other agencies) will also provide a voter registration form to non-citizens. It is currently against federal law to verify the citizenship of voters in federal elections.

There is still a lot of work to be done in securing our elections. Tennessee Stands continues to advocate for the use of hand-marked secure paper ballots along with a verifiable audit trail for Tennessee elections. Beyond that, we certainly must ensure that only U.S. citizens are able to cast a ballot for the integrity of our elections and the purity of the ballot box.

There is a story behind this bill.

As lobbyists have been successfully moving HB1890 along in the House, the companion bill, SB2099 has been stalled in the Senate due to strong opposition from grassroots conservatives across the state. In fact, the bill was considered dead in the Senate due to the fact that the Senate Energy, Ag., and Nat. Resources Committee was closed and had completed its final calendar.

But those lobbyists and pressure from bill sponsor Senator Jack Johnson have been successful in forcibly reopening the committee chaired by Senator Steve Southerland who is opposed to the bill. In fact, just hours after an email went out from a lobbying group putting pressure to reopen the committee, Sen. Southerland was rushed to the hospital from the Senate Floor due to a medical emergency.

This bill is scheduled to be heard Wednesday at 1:00PM in the Senate Energy, Ag., and Nat. Resources Committee.

If passed this bill gives the Department of Agriculture the ability to acquire and administer real estate interests in the state by way of an “agricultural easement,” also known as a conservation easement. A CE conveys to a third party, either a land trust or government entity, the right to control the use of the private property being encumbered for a “conservation purpose.” It is marketed as a way for landowners to ensure their property will remain in a natural state, protected from future development forever. They are told their current use of the land will continue, such as agricultural use. For this consideration, they are offered an income or estate tax deduction and other financial benefits.

We strongly oppose the creation of any such easement program in Tennessee which cedes control of the use of private property to the government in exchange for some perceived tax benefit.

“I listen to 99.7 WTN quite a bit, and have my issues with them here and there but generally like what they have to say. But I hadn’t known what to think of their smearing of Gary, until Saturday night when it all came together. I knew Gary would not bring Steve Deace in to speak, if he was a useless thorn in the side of the Republican Party like they made him out to be.  

In listening to Gary and whoever that Bad ass man (pardon my language but he was awesome) from New Zealand was - Trevor Loudon, I came to understand what was happening and how the system in TN is trying to protect itself from the people and their will. The point of our supermajority and the fact that we could pass anything we wanted to without the Democrats in this state and yet here we are, totally opened my eyes! And it totally makes sense why he must attack “our own side”, because that point right there makes it clear where the problem lies and needs to be addressed.”
