The Joint Standing Committee on Treaties (JSCT) has asked for feedback on the 2024 IHRs, and submissions close 23 January 2025. 

Why is it important to lodge your submission?
Join us in conversation with Dr David Bell former WHO medical officer,and Debra Yuille of Australia Exits the WHO, as we unpack why we should lodge our feedback, and how best to do it.

For those who don’t know Dr Bell, he is a former medical officer and scientist at the WHO, Programme Head for malaria and febrile diseases at the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) in Geneva, Switzerland, and Director of Global Health Technologies at Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund in Bellevue, WA, USA. David has been a fervent supporter of the Aligned Council of Australia since our inception, including his participation in our International Press Conference in Melbourne, May 2024.

Good evening My place Gold Coast. Here is a couple of things happening in our local area:

Dinner event, My place Southern Gold Coast: After a very successful 2nd community gathering at Mudgeeraba last Wednesday, Coordinator Isa has decided to conduct MP Southern GC’s first dinner at the Wallaby Hotel on Monday the 28th of October from 5:30pm Qld time. Then the following Wednesday we will be having our 3rd Community gathering at the same location (just north of Mudgeeraba Market Shopping Centre) on the grass near the bottle shop. As always these are Wednesday fortnight on the 30th of October. Please bring down any crops you would like to swap. Hopefully by then, there will also be a trade table there.
As this is a community gathering, we encourage the upper most positive energy and happy faces to these. Anything outside this we would appreciate to be kept away. This is a positive space for the community to grow. As there are 3 events coming up soon, this is a short and sweet email this fortnight. Please get involved and share other events which are happening on the relevant pages, including fire ant campaigns which are highly important at the moment. We are an amazing community here on the Gold Coast and welcome anyone who wants to get involved!
